The aim of the EIC Pathfinder Program is to develop the scientific foundation that will support groundbreaking technologies. Early-stage research and development efforts focusing on deep technology aimed at technological breakthroughs are supported. Early-stage development processes, up to the level of proof of concept for future technologies (e.g., activities between Technology Readiness Levels 1-3), are supported with grants ranging from 3 to 4 million euros.

Within the scope of the EIC Pathfinder Open Guide, grants are provided for interdisciplinary projects focusing on technology-oriented scientific research in any field of science or technology, based on high-risk/high-gain principles. Applications are made through consortia, with support provided up to 3 million euros. Applications to EIC Pathfinder Open projects are made through consortia established with the participation of at least one organization from an EU Member State and at least three organizations from EU Member States or Associated Countries.

The deadline for applications to the program is March 7, 2024.

As part of the Access2EIC project, an Annotated Application Template has been published for the EIC Pathfinder Open call. We recommend that all our researchers who will apply to the program review the guide, which provides tips for a successful project proposal submission. The Annotated Application Template for the EIC Pathfinder Open Call can be accessed here.
